This study aimed to describe the profile of the Mawar Merah Farmer
Group in Cipari Village, the implementation of agricultural extension programs
aimed at increasing the productivity of Bird's Eye Chili in the Mawar Merah
Farmer Group in Cipari Village, and the function of the agricultural extension
program in boosting the productivity of Bird's Eye Chili in the Mawar Merah
Farmer Group.
A descriptive quantitative method was used in this study. The research was
conducted in Cipari Village, Cipari District, Cilacap Regency, from June 2023
until August 2023. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data. The
sampling was done using the census technique with 16 participants.
The Mawar Merah Farmer Group in Cipari Village was established in
2020 with 25 members. Their primary interests include trading agricultural goods,
raising livestock, and farming. Implementing the agricultural extension program
takes three months, especially when growing bird's eye chili. The Agricultural
Extension Officers (PPL) hold group or mass meetings at the Cipari Village Hall
twice every three months in addition to their twice-monthly individual visits. The
purpose of the agricultural extension program, particularly about growing bird's
eye chili, is to help the government regulate the price of the spice and to give
farmers a forum on developments in the field of bird's eye chili production. All
farmers participating in this extension program reported increased bird's eye chili
production.
