Abstract

There are several factors that are quite the background of the cause of failure in fostering spiritual intelligence, namely due to the lack of attention of parents to the child's spirituality. The next factor is along with the passage of time, the development of science, technology and social conditions of society that bring so many changes that have a rapid impact on child development. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence at MTs Muhammadiyah Purwokerto.
This research is a type of field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were Islamic Religious Education teachers, students and school principals, using data collection techniques, interviews, observations and documentation. Where the collected data will be analyzed using data reduction methods, data presentation and data verification so as to get a general conclusion.
The results showed that the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence as class managers, educators, guides, evaluators and motivators. The efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence are through example, providing knowledge, habituation, discipline and assignment. Implementation of fostering students' spiritual intelligence through learning Islamic Religious Education, providing guidance and motivation, Dhuha Prayer and Dhuhr Prayer in congregation, Read and Write the Qur'an and Tahfidz Al-Qur'an.
