Abstract

Knowing that in class IX SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School Zam-Zam
Cilongok Banyumas instills character education values to students with various
learning methods carried out by teachers at the school, to instill character education
values through a creative approach. The purpose of this study was to find out the
internalization of character education values and to find out the supporting and
inhibiting factors of internalizing character education values through a creative
approach to moral subjects in class IX at SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School
Zam-Zam Cilongok Banyumas
This research is a type of field research with interview, observation and
documentation data collection techniques. Data analysis uses primary data from the
interview results, where the collected data will be analyzed qualitatively using a
descriptive method, namely describing the picture of the data obtained by
connecting the data with each other to get a general conclusion.
The results of the study show that the internalization of character education
values is through a creative approach to morals subjects in class IX at SMP
Muhammadiyah Boarding School Zam-Zam Cilongok Banyumas through
discussion, question and answer, and lecture methods. Supporting factors are
professional educators, adequate facilities, availability of appropriate teaching
materials, enthusiastic children in the spirit of learning, learning materials that are
aligned with character education. While the inhibiting factors are different family
history, potential understanding, motivation, preferences, conditions, and treatment
of each student is different, psychological conditions affect students to receive good
learning, the determination of learning methods must be aligned with the needs of
each child.
