This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of liquidity, profitability,
leverage, operating cash flow, and firm size on financial distress in manufacturing
companies in the primary consumer sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange
for the period 2018-2020. Theresearch method uses a quantitative approach with
a descriptive approach. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The sampling method of this study used purposive
sampling. The population in the study was 48 companies. Companies that meet the
criteria to be sampled in this study are 192 data. This study used SPSS test tools
with the research methods used, namely, descriptive statistical tests, logistic
regression analysis, regression model feasibility tests, assessing the overall model,
and regression coefficient significance tests (partial tests). The results of the study
partially show that profitability, leverage, operating cash flow have a positive
effect and have a significant effect on financial distress. Meanwhile, liquidity and
firm size have a negative effect and do not have a significant effect on financial
distress.
