Abstract

Telegram and Instagram are popular social media in today's society. The
increasing number of users of these two applications certainly has positive and
negative impacts, one of the negative impacts is that it is used for digital crimes,
one of which is online prostitution. How to catch digital criminals, evidence is
needed at trial. One way to find digital evidence is to do digital forensics. This
research will carry out as much evidence from online prostitution as possible
from Telegram Messenger and Instagram on android smartphones. In this study,
the tools used were Mobiledit Forensic and Oxygen Forensic using the National
Institute· of Justice (NIJ) method. The results of this study using the Mobiledit
Forensic and Oxygen Forensic tools produced all the information needed to
become digital evidence, namely the Telegram and Instagram application
databases, report extraction to facilitate reading the results of data extraction,
from the extraction obtained Telegram and Instagram account information,
conversations via Telegram and Instagram, pictures sent, contact names, and
account verification tracking.
