Abstract

Soybeans are one of the third most essential food commodities after rice and corn. Apart from pests and diseases, weeds are one of the plant-disturbing organisms (OPT) that can disturb soybean plants. Weed control can be done by applying herbicides. Fermented coconut water can be used as an herbicide. This study aimed to determine the effect of fermented coconut water in controlling weed growth and its effect on the growth and yield of soybean plants. The research design used in this study was RAL (Completely Randomized Design) with six treatments and four replications, F0: without herbicides and weeding, F1: 100 ml Coconut water fermentation, F2: 200 ml Coconut water fermentation, F3: 100 ml Water fermentation coconut + glyphosate 2 ml/1 water, F4: 200 ml fermented coconut water + glyphosate 2 ml/1 water, F5: glyphosate 2 ml/l water. The results showed a significant effect on the percentage of weed cover, the number of filled pods, the number of seeds per plant, and the weight of the seeds planted and no significant effect on the variables of weed dry weight, plant height, and crown diameter.
