Abstract

This research was conducted at the Sumber Rejeki KUB, Ponjen Village, Karanganyar Subdistrict of Purbalingga Regency from July to August 2022. This study aims to: 1) recognize the socio-economic characteristics of members of the business group, 2) analyze the value added of products from coconut sap into gula-gula cetak and gula semut (palm sugar variants) produced by the members, and 3) figure out the value added of the products that are more profitable, whether they are gula-gula cetak or gula semut (palm sugar variants). The method used is descriptive-qualitative and the quantitative one used primary and secondary data. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and the sample was taken using a census sampling technique where there were 54 craftsmen as respondents. The results of this study are: 1) The socio-economic conditions of the KUB members in terms of age of entry into the productive working age are the average in the age group 37-47 years. The education level of the KUB members is still relatively low, namely having an elementary school background. The duration of the business run by members of the business group is quite long, namely 6-11 years. The wages or income of gula-gula cetak or gula semut (palm sugar variants) craftsmen is IDR. 50,000 in one production process. 2) The value added obtained during the processing of printed sugar is IDR. 2,340. While the value Added obtained during the ant sugar processing is IDR. 2,580. 3) The comparison results that have been calculated using the Hayami method obtained a higher value-added in gula semut product, which is IDR. 2,580 with a percentage of 61.24%, while the acquisition of value added for gula cetak products is lower, namely IDR. 2,340 or 57.26%.
