Abstract

Aqidah and morals learning has the aim of forming the personality of students
which is reflected in their behavior and mindset in everyday life. The open-ended
approach is a learning strategy that will help students achieve their goals by
increasing their reasoning power, creativity and logical and critical thinking. The
purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of the open ended
approach in teaching aqeedah and morals at SMK Muhammadiyah 3
Purwokerto..
This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were
teachers of aqidah and morals subjects as well as students. Data collection was
carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis
techniques with data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions..
The results of the research show that at Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto Vocational
High School, the teaching of aqidah and morals is implemented using an open
ended approach. This is evidenced by the increased ability of students to think
creatively by solving problems..
The open ended learning strategy applied is carried out using 4 methods, namely
discussion, question and answer, demonstration and assignment, in its application
there are still obstacles from both the teacher and the students themselves..
