Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and find empirical evidence of the effect of
information asymmetry, earnings management, and firm size on the cost of equity
capital. The sample used in this study are banking companies listed on the
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2017-2020. The sampling technique used is
purposive sampling and obtained as many as 40 companies with 160 data samples
that have met the criteria. The source of the data for this research is the financial
statements or annual reports published on the website www.idx.com. The data
analysis technique used multiple linear regression. The results showed that
information asymmetry had no effect on the cost of equity capital. Meanwhile,
earnings management and firm size have a positive effect on the cost of equity
capital.
