Abstract

The principal is one of the determinants of progress or not the future of the
school. They have great authority in controlling and determining the strategic
direction of the management and development of the institution. A conducive
work atmosphere will increase comfort in the KBM process (teaching and
learning activities) at school. The aims of this research are to find out: (1) To find
out how the influence of the principal's leadership style on the performance of SD
UMP teachers,; (2) To find out how the effect of the work atmosphere on the
performance of SD UMP teachers, (3) To find out how much influence the
principal's leadership style and work atmosphere have on the performance of SD
UMP teachers,.
The study was conducted at the UMP Elementary School, Kembaran
District, Banyumas Regency. The population in this study were all 33 teachers at
the UMP Elementary School. From this population, the whole population is used
as a sample in the study. The data of the research were analyzed by using a
multiple linear regression analysis. The data analysis technique uses quantitative
data analysis. Quantitative analysis includes validity and reliability test, classical
assumption test, coefficient of determination test and multiple analysis, F
significance test (F statistic test), individual parameter significance test (t test)
While the data management uses SPSS 19.00 for windows.
The results of the analysis are as follows:(1) there is a positive influence of
the principal's leadership style variable with the teacher's performance variable as
indicated by the magnitude of the t value of 0.017 < 0.05. So that the effect is
significant, the magnitude of the effect is 0.327. (2) there is a positive effect of the
work atmosphere variable on teacher performance as evidenced by the significant
value of 0.000 (<0.005). the magnitude of the influence is 0.820 (3) there is a
positive influence of the principal's leadership style and work atmosphere together
with teacher performance, as evidenced by the R-Square of 0.660. This value
indicates that the proportion of the influence of leadership and work atmosphere
variables on the performance variables of SD UMP teachers is 66%.
