Abstract

Diversity is one of the national identities that every individual and
organization must have. The existence of issues of division or conflict related to
diversity indicates low awareness in society about respecting the various
differences that exist around. Islamic and multicultural teachings contain
similarities, namely they both teach that every human being respects, respects,
loves, is tolerant, even though they have different ethnic, racial, cultural and
religious backgrounds. Then the purpose of this research is to reveal the success
of the role of the Al-sakinah taklim assembly in socializing multicultural Islamic
education which is located in the Manggis hamlet, Kaliloka village.
The type of research used in this research is field research. Field research
is conducted to decide in which direction to research based on context. This study
aims to obtain method information about the role of the majlis taklim in
socializing multicultural Islamic education in the Manggis hamlet, Kaliloka
village, Sirampog sub-district, Brebes regency. In addition, this approach is
expected to reveal the situation and problems encountered in socializing Islamic
education in multicultural societies.
Based on the results of the research that has been done, it shows that the
Al-sakinah taklim assembly plays a role in socializing multicultural Islamic
education as evidenced by the recruitment of members with different backgrounds
but togetherness and harmony can be built with the following strategies: First,
identify yourself with the value of diversity, The second is exemplary, the third is
building real tolerance between individuals, the fourth is inviting open
communication, and the fifth is fair and mutually supportive treatment.
