Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits the dengue virus. The spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) can be prevented by physical and chemically biological vector control. Chemical vector control is carried out by using insecticides. Unfortunately, the uncontrolled use of insecticides can cause vector resistance to insecticides and environmental contamination. This study aims to determine the vulnerability test of Aedes aegypti laboratory colonies to cypermethrin insecticide with a concentration of 0.05%. This research was conducted from 21 October to 15 November 2022 at the Entomology Laboratory of the Banjarnegara Health Research and Development Center. This study used the vulnerability test method (WHO standard) using impregnated paper containing 0.05% cypermethrin, while the data analysis used the Abbott formula. The resistance test results showed that Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in laboratory colonies were vulnerable (100% mortality) to 0.05% cypermethrin insecticide.
