Abstract
Expired seeds are plant germs that have experienced a decline in quality or a setback so that when they are used in a crop cultivation business, their growth will be hampered and the yield will also be limited. In other words,expired seeds have low germinationpower and may not even sprout at all. One way to increase agricultural production is to use expired rice seeds, which can be done by treating them before planting (invigoration) the research aims to determine the effect of using natural ZPT and soaking time on increased germination and vigor of expired rice seeds. The research design used was a completely randomized design used consisting of one factor studied namely natural ZPT (Z) which includes shallot extract, banana corm, and bean sprouts each with 3 levels of soaking time, namely 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours; the treatment was repeated 3 times. The result of study showed that increased germination and vigor of expired rice seeds using natural PGR with different soaking times had a significant difference in seed germination, radicle appearance, percentage of normal sprouts, root length, and sprout stem length.
