Abstract
E-Commerce is a new style of online transaction Online transactions are transactions made by buyers and sellers online through the internet, there is no direct encounter between the buyers and the sellers This study aims to examine and analyze legal protection and dispute resolution for consumers regarding the purchase of goods in E-commerce transactions that are not in accordance with orders. The method used by the author is a normative juridical research method using a statutory approach (statute approach), conceptual approach (conceptual approach), and case approach (case approach). Sources of data used in the form of primary and secondary legal materials. The results of the study show that legal protection for consumers against buying and selling through e-commerce is generally subject to the Civil Code and Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions. Specifically, protection for non-conformance of goods received by consumers through e-commerce is contained in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and Government Regulation Number 82 of 2012 concerning Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions. If the business actor is proven negligent with the goods received that are not suitable and/or defective, causing losses to consumers buying and selling through e-commerce, the business actor may be subject to civil sanctions and criminal sanctions as stipulated in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and Government Regulation Number 80 of 2019 concerning Trade Through Electronic Systems.
