Abstract

Various important factors, such as material, substantially impact how much it will cost to complete a project. It is common for residual material to be created during project execution; while this cannot be avoided, it can be lessened. This study aims to determine the predominant materials used, the underlying causes, and potential solutions to the problem of residual material. In this study, descriptive quantitative approaches are used. According to a study employing Pareto analysis, PVC pipe type AW Ø4” (waste level: 63,57%, cost of waste material: Rp. 10.680.000) and bricks (waste level: 6,31%, cost of waste material: Rp. 8.796.008) are the two most prevalent materials for the residual material. The reasons for the residual Ø4" type AW PVC pipe material were incorrect calculations made during the procurement of the material and out-of-date shortcuts. Meanwhile, transportation-related damage, improper site planning, and excessive cutting result in the production of bricks. The control activities include developing calculation plans, coordinating modules, optimizing cutting, planning suitable layouts, and reaching agreements with suppliers. The supplier is responsible if the material is damaged during shipping
