Abstract
In general, the application of Islamic Religious Education learning in schools is still not much in demand by all students, PAI learning seems difficult and boring for students. This is undoubtedly a huge challenge for PAI teachers. Therefore, teachers must take strategic steps in managing PAI learning so that it becomes an interesting topic for students. So we need the right learning model to overcome these problems, namely by using the discovery learning model. Discovery Learning is used so that students can be more active in learning because most Islamic Religion teachers in teaching Islamic Religion lessons only rely on the lecture method while the learning method includes factors that affect learning outcomes. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation methods. Where the data collected will be analyzed using reduction, presentation and conclusions to get the results of the research. The results showed that the discovery learning model was declared effective in learning Akidah Akhlak at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Ajibarang. This can be seen from the learning outcomes of students who get scores above the KKM more than 75% and can be seen from the increased motivation of students to learn more. In addition, this method can also make students more interested in the lesson. In applying the discovery learning method, the teacher not only gets the advantages of the learning model, but not infrequently the teacher also experiences obstacles in the form of not all Akidah Akhlak material being able to use the model when applied in the classroom, then the different characters or abilities of students in the learning process in the classroom. class. However, teachers can minimize these obstacles in learning.
