Abstract
The study was conducted because of low mathematics learning achievement. One way that the teacher took to overcome this was to give their role in collaboration with parents. The teacher often gave their role to students, so further study about students' responses to the teachers' role on mathematics learning achievement was conducted. This study aimed to determine the correlation between the teacher's role and mathematics learning achievement in the fourth graders with distance learning and to determine the effect of the student response on the teacher's role towards mathematics learning achievement. It was a quantitative study with ex-post facto method. The populations were the 20 students of class IV SD Negeri III Tinggarjaya, Jatilawang district. The variables in this study were the independent variable of the teachers role and the dependent variable of mathematics learning achievement. The data were collected using questionnaires and year-end assessments. The hypothesis testing technique used correlation, regression, and determinant analysis. Prior to testing the hypothesis, a prerequisite test was conducted, namely the normality test and linearity test. Hypothesis testing with a significant level of 5% showed that there was a correlation and also an influence between the teachers' roles on mathematics learning achievement for class IV with distance learning. The Pearson correlation coefficient value for the correlation test was 0.792, and the results of the simple regression test Y1 = 32.843 + 0.864X, with the regression significance test using the t-test, the result obtained the comparison t count = 5.501 t table 2.110. The determination test revealed that R Square was 62.7 percent, implying that the students' responses to the teachers' role influenced 62.7 % of students' achievement. The findings could be utilized to recommend ways for teachers, both current and future, to increase mathematics learning achievement by carrying out their roles. Therefore, it is suggested that the teachers should always give positive roles to their students so that the students' mathematics learning achievement is going to be optimal.
