Abstract

Kasgot is the result of maggot excretion which can be used as organic fertilizer in
plant cultivation. Planting media that can be used include soil, husk charcoal,
cocopeat, or a mixture of the three. The objective of this study was to obtain a dose
of Kasgot and planting media for the cultivation of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). This
study was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RAK), with two factors
and four replications. The first kasgot dose included P0 (0g/polybag), P1
(50g/polybag), P2 (100g/polybag) and P3 (150g/polybag). The second factor of
planting media is M0 (soil), M1 (husk charcoal), M2 (cocopeat), and M3 (husk
charcoal and cocopeat). The best results showed that giving Kasgot as much as 150
g with cocopeat planting media (P3M2) resulted in a plant height of 21.18 (cm),
stem diameter of 14.13 (mm), a number of leaves of 38.00 (strands), fresh weight of
roots of 17.13 (g), root dry weight of 1.52 (g), shoot fresh weight of 388.14 (g),
shoot dry weight of 10.36 (g), and root volume of 16.50 (ml).
