Nature conservation activities in Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas are carried out based on the local wisdoms of the local community. However, the aforementioned local wisdom is not yet known for their efforts in nature conservation. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the nature conservation efforts based on local wisdom in Sambirata, Cilongok, Banyumas.
The research method was a survey method. The data were obtained through interviews with four sources. Subsequently, the interview results and discussion were written narratively or descriptively on three topics of nature conservation efforts based on local wisdom, including : Local wisdom in Sambirata Village, local wisdom in the form of invitations, and local wisdom in the form of prohibitions. The research results showed that there was three local wisdom in nature conservation efforts: Tabet Kejamba Local Wisdom, Tuk Brebeg Local Wisdom, and Bukit Gondang Local Wisdom in which there were nature conservation efforts based on this local wisdom in the form of invitations, prohibitions, and actions. The existence of this local wisdom made the people of Desa Sambirata take care of the natural surroundings even though they had not been written down. In addition, these nature conservation efforts based on local wisdom placed great emphasis on trust in the form of invitations and prohibitions. If violated, it was believed that karma or natural laws would have an impact on individuals and could even have an impact on the entire surrounding community.
