Abstract
There are various socio-economic factors that can affect the price of cayenne pepper in Purbalingga Regency. In this study, three questions were asked. How is the development of price fluctuations of cayenne pepper in Purbalingga Regency. What are the socio-economic factors that influence the price fluctuation of cayenne pepper in Kutasari Village, Kutasari District, Purbalingga Regency. What is the farmer's perception of the socio-economic factors that determine the price fluctuation of cayenne pepper in Kutasari Village, Kutasari District, Purbalingga Regency. The number of respondents is more than 100 samples. The data analysis used in this study is a quantitative descriptive analysis with the analyzed data presented in tabular form. The scale used in the study used a Likert Scale. The price of cayenne pepper in Purbalingga tends to fluctuate where there is an increase in prices at the beginning and at the end of the quarter due to weather factors. The most influential socio-economic factors on price fluctuations according to farmers who have grown cayenne pepper in Kutasari Village are education, experience and land area, which were selected by 35% of farmers for education, 45% for experience and 32.5% for land area. Farmers' perceptions of socio-economic factors that influence price fluctuations are the openness of middlemen, experience of cayenne pepper farming, farmers have a social spirit and the availability and price of production facilities to run cayenne pepper farming such as complete and effective fertilizers and pesticides
