Abstract
This research was carried out in Purwaharja Village, Purwaharja District, Banjar City, from March to August 2022. This research aims to figure out the inhibiting factors during the Covid-19 pandemic, solutions given by the agricultural extension workers, and the impact of agricultural extension workers' performance during the Covid-19 pandemic felt by farmers in Purwaharja Village, Purwaharja Sub-district, Banjar City. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with primary and secondary data. This research sample comprised 40 respondents from farmer groups and one extension worker in Purwaharja Village as the key informant selected using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative and Likert scale analysis. The research results indicated that the extension workers gave several solutions to overcome the inhibiting factors for counseling during the Covid-19 pandemic. These included conducting coaching via telephone, sharing information through WhatsApp groups, and carrying out counseling with strict health protocols. The solutions effectively overcame the problems of farmers during the Covid-19 pandemic who were constrained to carry out direct communication. In addition, extension workers regularly went into the rice field during the harvest season, tried to make it easier for farmers to take care of rice fields during Covid-19, and met the needs of farmers during the pandemic. Extension workers were able to provide material and acted as facilitators, motivators, and educators during the Covid-19 pandemic.
