Abstract
This study aims to develop an experimental carom game media that is suitable for learning science in grade IV SD Negeri 01 Gumingsir and SD 02 Gumingsir. This research is a type of research and development or Research and Development (R&D) that uses the Borg&Gall development model with nine stages. The stages of media development carried out are: 1) research and data collection, 2) planning, 3) developing product drafts, 4) initial field trials, 5) revising the product from trial I, 6) field trials, 7) product improvements. results of field tests, 8) operational field tests, and 9) final product refinements. The test subjects were fourth grade students of SD Negeri 01 Gumingsir and 02 Gumingsir for the academic year 2022/2023. The instruments used in this study were media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, student questionnaires, teacher questionnaires and evaluation questions. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively.
Media validation was carried out in 2 stages with the results of the assessment in stage I getting an average of 3.73 with "good" criteria and stage II validation getting an average of 4.53 with "very good" criteria. The material validation was carried out in 2 stages with the results of the assessment in stage I getting an average of 3.4 with the "enough" criteria and the second validation getting an average of 4.67 with the "very good" criteria. The media trial was carried out in 3 stages with the average student response of 4.85; 4.8; and 4.9 which all fit into the "very good" criteria. While the average results from teacher assessments get an average of 4.9; 5; 5, all of which fall into the "very good" criteria. Student learning outcomes after using the experimental carom game media obtained an average result of 85.5 in the "good" category in the initial field trial, 86.11 in the "very good" category in the field trial and 8.38 with the "very good" category. " on operational trials. Based on the results of product validation and testing, it was stated that the experimental carom game media developed was declared suitable for use in science learning in grade IV SD Negeri 01 Gumingsir and 02 Gumingsir based on all aspects that were validated and tested.
