The research entitled A Critical Discourse Analysis on Removing Street Murals in CNN Indonesia News Texts aimed to describe the text structure and social context of CNN Indonesia news texts on removing street murals through the theory of Teun A. Van Dijk. Critical discourse analysis was implemented to analyze how a message or text was communicated. The analysis would observe the news text's content and how and why the message could be presented. Therefore, this study employed critical discourse analysis according to Teun A. Van Dijk to uncover the abuse of power, domination, and injustice carried out by utilizing news texts. The data for the study were two news texts published by CNN Indonesia in the August 2021 edition, entitled Ironi Jokowi Minta Dikritik dan Gelombang Razia Mural Jalanan for the first and the second was Muralis Bicara Mural Kritik yang Dihapus dan Diburu Aparat. The method used was listening, then it continued with data provision by note-taking technique. The data analysis technique was descriptive analysis.
