This study aims to prove the effect of liquidity, public ownership, institutional ownership, board of directors size and firm size on financial distress. The sample used in this study is the Non-Primary Consumer Goods Sector Companies (Consumer Cyclicals) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2021 period. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 110 data that met the criteria. The data analysis model used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that public ownership, the size of the board of directors has no effect on financial distress, then liquidity and firm size have a positive effect on financial distress, while institutional ownership has a negative effect on financial distress.
