Domestic workers (domestic helpers) in the modern era are currently very much needed. Many housewives in Cendana village work as domestic workers. This phenomenon is an interesting study to examine. The aims of this study are to: 1) describe the main motivations of housewives in the village of sandalwood choosing to work as domestic workers. 2) describe the role of housewives in the village of sandalwood who work as domestic workers in children's education. 3) To describe the role of housewives in the sandalwood village who work as domestic workers in contributing to the family economy. This research is a qualitative research that goes directly to the field (Fiel Research). The data collection technique uses observation, documentation and interview techniques using 5 samples with sampling determined using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using triangulation, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The results of the research and discussion are as follows: 1) The main motivations for housewives in Cendana village to work as domestic workers are: Helping the family economy, the work is easy because it is like daily activities, Jobs outside of domestic workers are difficult to find, women Some households have worked before marriage. 2) The roles of housewives in the sandalwood village who work as domestic workers in children's education at home are: Preparing children's school needs in the morning, monitoring children's learning at night, monitoring spiritual activities at home At home, mothers who work can also make their children more independent, motivate children to go to school as high as possible. 3) The role of housewives in sandalwood village who work as domestic workers in the family's economic contribution: Helping husbands in earning a living, wants to more economically independent. In conclusion, housewives in Cendana village who work as domestic workers not motivated because they want to help their husbands or improve the family's economy, do not leave their obligations as children's educators at home, the economic contribution given by housewives who work as domestic workers is able to make the household economy better. The advice is housewives who work as domestic workers are able to motivate themselves more in their work and improve their skills so that they have wider job opportunities and higher incomes.
