This study was aimed to find out how the implementation of the supervision of the
principal and its impact on improving the performance of teachers in the
Dewantara Gugus, Subdistrict of Sumbang. This study uses a descriptive method
with a qualitative analysis approach, with the reason to obtain an overview of the
implementation process and the pattern of supervision of the principal in order to
improve teacher performance. Based on the results of this study, it was found that
(1) the implementation of principal supervision in the Dewantara Cluster was still
relatively low. There are two factors that cause the principal not to carry out his
supervisory duties properly, namely (a) Lack of understanding of the principal on
the task of supervision, (b) the busyness of the principal who often gets
assignments suddenly and activities outside the schedule. (2) The impact of the
implementation of supervision on improving the performance of teachers in the
Dewantara Gugus Sub-district is so great, the visible improvements include: (a)
Improving the quality of learning carried out by teachers, (b) increasing discipline
in attendance and administrative tasks, (c) increasing professionalism as a result
of follow-up supervision
