This study aims to determine the preparedness of elementary schools around Mount Slamet in dealing with mountain natural disasters in terms of physical aspects or facilities and infrastructure, school policies and management, as well as knowledge and attitudes of elementary school residents in emergency response plans. This was descriptive qualitative research. Interviews, observation, and documentation were used to collect data. School preparedness is measured using preparedness parameters which include knowledge, attitudes,emergency response plans, early warning systems, resource mobilization, and education sector policies and planning. The results showed that the preparedness of elementary schools around Mount Slamet in terms of physical aspects or facilities and infrastructure was inadequate or not ready. It could be seen in the lack of complete first aid kits and the absence of evacuation routes and school hazard warning alarms. In the aspect of school policy and management, school preparedness is classified as unprepared. It can be seen from the absence of policies from the local government for schools in disaster-prone areas, building design and class arrangement designs do not meet the requirements of disaster-prepared schools, and the absence of standards Operational School procedures in the event of a disaster, a special budget for disasters, and rescue facilities that can be used when a disaster occurs. In terms of knowledge and attitudes, the knowledge and attitudes of school residents in dealing with disasters are quite good. Elementary school residents know basic disaster knowledge and how to take action when a disaster occurs.
