This study examines the language of personal name, forms of personal name, types of the meaning of the personal name, and use of the personal name. This research was conducted to further examine the personal, especially in terms of semantic studies. This is qualitative descriptive research. The used were the names of the students of SD Negeri Kutamendala 06, Tonjong District, Brebes Regency with 90 names. Sources of data in this study were students in grades 1 to 6 at SD Negeri Kutamendala 06, Tonjong Sub District, Brebes Regency. The provision of data was recorded by recording data, namely the misuse of the list of names using the bibliography method with reading-note techniques. The distributional method with the dividing-direct-element (BUL) is used as the data analysis. The data that has been analyzed is presented using an informal method (using words).
From the results of data analysis, it was found that the language of the name itself, the forms of the name, the type of meaning of the name, and the purpose of using the name. The language of Names consists of the following data: (a) Indonesian/11 data, (b) Indonesian-Javanese/2 data, (c) Arabic/24 data, (d) Arabic-Indonesian/24 data, (e) Arabic-Javanese/5 data, (f) Arab-Indonesian-Javanese/10 data, (g) Arab-Indonesian-Javanese-Kawi/14 data. Names can take the following forms: (a) Word Selection for Personal Names, which includes gender-specific data for Male/6 and Female/20. It includes (1) Time/14 data, (2) Sequence/7 data, and (3) Event/2 data based on birth. (b) The total amount of words in the Name, broken down as follows: (1) One word/5 data, (2) Two words/28 data, (3) Three words/55 data, and (4) Four words/2 data. Personal name meanings come in a variety of forms, such as (a) names that denote beauty and flowers (36 data), (b) names that imply kindness (23 data), (c) Names that mean Circumstances and Situations/1 data, (d) Meaningful Names Circumstances and Situations/1 data, (e) Names That Have Meaning of Events/2 data, (f) Names that mean Circumstances and Situations /18 data, (g) Names that means Sequence/7 data, (h) Names with Time Meaning Birth/14 data, and (i) Names derived from abbreviations /0 data. The purpose of using personals includes: (a) religious expectations and goals, (1) A wish to be a good person/18 data, (2) a wish to become a strong person/9, (3) a wish to be a safe person/3, (4) a wish to be a smart person/6 data, (5) a wish to be a rich person/8 data, (6) a wish to be a gorgeous person/28 data. (b) Religious objectives, consisting of (1) Moslems/22 data, and (2) Non-Islamic adherents/0 data.
