Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of leadership, work discipline on employee performance through organizational commitment as a mediating variable at PT Harapan Jaya Globalindo. The sample of this research was 120 employees of PT Harapan Jaya Globalindo using random sampling techniques and data obtained from respondents with research instruments using questionnaires. The method used in this research is multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that the leadership and work discipline variables had a significant positive effect on organizational commitment and the leadership, work discipline and organizational commitment variables had a significant positive effect. The results of the partial analysis test show that leadership does not affect organizational commitment, work discipline does not affect organizational commitment, leadership does not affect employee performance, work discipline has a positive effect on employee performance, organizational commitment has positive effect on employee performance and organizational commitment cannot mediate the relationship between leadership, work discipline on employee performance.
