This study aimed to determine the background of Antih Yarn production establishment, the development of its production in Tumanggal Village in 1997-2019 and to determine the impact of Antih Yarn production on the socio-economic life of the community. Based on the problem and objectives of this study, this study was conducted using the historical method, which analyzed the reality that happened in the past. The stages of the study were: 1. Heuristics (finding and collecting historical sources). 2. Criticism; divided into two, namely external criticism (criticism from the outside/authenticity of the source) and internal criticism (criticism in terms of credibility/reliability of the source). 3. Interpretation, namely interpreting or giving meaning to historical facts. 4. Historiography; history writing. The result indicated that the background of the establishment of Antih yarn in Tumangga can't be separated from the Japanese colonization in Tumangga Village. In its development, the production of Antih yarn in Tumangga Village has experienced ups and downs. The development of Antih Yarn production began in 1980 due to the presence of investors to rebuild the Antih Yarn Tumangga industry after its vacuum. In 2002-2012, it was in an unstable phase for the production of Antih Yarn Tumangga until a drastic decline occurred. Various efforts were made to revive Antih Yarn Tumanggal and in 2012-2019 it was able to reach the peak of success and it still exists today. The presence of Antih Yarn production has an impact on the community, both from the social side (increasing the social status of the community) and from the economic side (improving the welfare of the surrounding community).
