The simplicity of information services and technological advances become the main factor in creating communication connections between human beings on the earth. On the other side, information, both factual or hoax information, will be easier to be obtained. Consequently, human has to be wiser in establishing a connection for personal affairs, because if they are careless in communicating, it can jeopardize the confidentiality and security of personal information. The information tapping process (Sniffing) in computer networks has become more commonplace. This study gives an overview of web server security of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto on sniffing process in the wireless network, and attack method possibility on Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto web server. The identification was conducted in this study to identify the web server of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto using the Wireshark application. The results of this study are by carrying out sniffing on Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto web server, it cannot record and show sensitive information such as username and password using Wireshark application.
