Abstract

Now it's hard to get a decent clean water for consumption. It encourages thinking to find alternative solutions for clean water treatment. Sea water desalination today began to be developed to overcome the water crisis considering the amount of sea water is abundant compared to fresh water. The process of desalination that is currently beginning to develop is using membrane. However, the common problem with membranes is fouling. before conducting fouling control, we must know the mechanism of action of fouling and determining the type of fouling The purpose of this research is to find out the characteristics of flux and rejection in desalination process with membrane hybrid-zeolite natural/Polivynil Alcohol (PVA) as well as know the price of a constant fouling speed in desalination with hybrid-zeolite natural membrane/Polivynil Alcohol (PVA). The results of this research show the characteristics of flux and rejection in the process of seawater desalination. The longer the filtration time, the lower the flux gained. Fouling speed constants at the desalination of the KCF sea water amounted to 0.1271, at the desalination of water is Kc of-0.019, at the desalination of brackish water namely KCF by 0.2096, in the desalination of seawater + water pond namely KC as of-0.0113, in the desalination water + the brackish water--0.028 KC, and the desalination of sea water + brackish Ki for 0.059.
