Abstract

With the current technological developments, it is now easier to control and monitor equipment in substations located far apart from one control room by using the SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system. This final project is useful for the learning process as well as simulators for students and new substation workers who want to learn about the SCADA system at the substation. The study aimed to create a SCADA system to control and to supervise the substation plant simulator, for example, the controlled substation system in Transformer line 1 and the Transformer line 2 in Rawalo substation. This study used three Twido PLCs to control the substation plant simulator, the first PLC was used as a master and the other two PLCs were used as slave PLCs. In the plant, there are two PM5350 Power Meters used to measure electrical quantities such as current, voltage, active power, reactive power, apparent power, frequency and power factor in the Transformer 1 and Transformer 2. From the results of the design and testing, it is found that the Twido PLC can be used as a master and slave PLC, the use of the SCADA Wonderware InTouch software can visualize controlled plants, display electrical output measurements and record alarms when disturbances occur. The data from the measurement of the electrical scale of the substation plant simulator were stored in the Microsoft Access database.
