Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the general condition of Ajibarang Sub-district, Banyumas Regency, the development of the Ajibarang Branch of Muhammadiyah Organization in 2009-2018, and the Charitable Enterprise of Muhammadiyah organization in Ajibarang in the field of education and non-education. In this research, historical method was used. It consisted of four stages, namely: (1) heuristics (collection of sources) in the form of observation, interview and documentation as the first step in finding data and interviews with informants, (2) criticism of sources, in order to obtain authentic sources that were accountable and relevant to the problem researched, (3) interpretation of data obtained based on facts gotten from informants, and (4) historiography (historical writing) as the process of compiling historical facts from various sources had been selected in a form of historical writing. The results of this study indicated that the Ajibarang Branch of Muhammadiyah was initially a part of Banyumas Branch. Then, in the next six years, it officially became the Ajibarang Branch, until now, with various charitable enterprises owned, both in education and non-education field.
