Abstract
Information technology is highly needed by all people for both personal and
business purposes; it involves all business aspects. In addition, transportation
is also required by humans along with the current development and the
increase in an individual's mobility of activities. The development of vehicles,
especially cars, is in line with the increasing population every year. Of course,
the more escalation on vehicle development, the more demand for vehicle
service or maintenance. Vehicle maintenance is a process or activity that must
be carried out regularly with the aim of replacing damaged spare parts with the
available resources. Loxa Car-Repair Shop is a service business engaged in the
maintenance of vehicles, especially cars. The shop provides car services and
maintenance; it includes periodic car maintenance and damage reparation for
Purwokerto region. There are still problems discovered in the shop services
including a) customers have to come directly to the workshop, and b) they
have to wait in a long queue and during the maintenance process. It is
inefficient because it takes a lot of time. Based on these conditions, this
research requires a fast and accurate information system to be able to improve
a car service application that makes it easy for the citizens of Purwokerto to get
the car service and maintenance. The final result to be achieved in this research
is a web-based application to reserve car services that are expected to help the
shop management in providing optimal services to the customers.
