Abstract

To support the development of Purwokerto and Purbalingga, adequate
transportation facilities are needed and these could be reached by all levels of
society. Bus Rapid Transit is a bus system that is fast, convenient, safe and
punctual from infrastructure, vehicles and scheduled. Due to the interests of both
service providers and users, it may result an imbalance between demand and
supply. Then it is necessary to calculate how many the optimal fleet is in a
balanced state by meeting the number of requests. From the analysis by using the
break-even point method, it indicated that the number of fleets operated was 14
units, the optimal number of fleet requirements in the break-even point conditions
was 14-15 fleet units. These conditions were in accordance with the number of
operating fleets provided, and 1 unit is ready for operation/backup. It could be
concluded that the service provider has provided the fleet based on the needs.
