Abstract

Information technology is growing rapidly, providing facilities in all respects, including the increasing use of the internet to easily browse cyberspace through websites. Website is a collection of site pages which are usually encapsulated in a domain or subdomain, which is located on the World Wide Web on the internet. A web page is written in HTML format which can almost always be accessed via HTTP, a protocol that conveys information from a website server to be displayed to users via a web browser. The web server will send the user request file via a predefined communication protocol, the requested web page consists of text files, videos, images, files. The wider access to the internet network will cause problems in terms of security, this needs to be considered in order to maintain the confidentiality of data from network attacks from an irresponsible party. Configuring a web server by limiting access and closing open ports as a loophole of web server security can increase security on the web server coupled with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) capable of creating tunnels when accessing the internet thereby increasing network security because the data passing through will be encrypted, one form of VPN, namely OpenVPN. Efforts to increase security, Kerberos authenticate users and control access to network data sources.
