Abstract
Bamboo is a local commodity that is easily found in Indonesia, but the
leaves are still many untapped. One of the utilization of the possible bamboo leaves
is silica synthesis. Silica can be extracted and utilized further as an ingredient for
the manufacture of silica membranes. In this study silica was composed with PVA
and PEG into Si/PVA/PEG membrane. The study aims to explain the influehce of
silisa mass and PEG levels to the coefficient of resistance, and flux in Si/PVA/PEG
membrane. The membrane of Si/PVA/PEG is applied for the purpose of reducing
turbidity and total dissolved solids in the tofu industrial liquid waste. The
Si/PVA/PEG mernbrane is made by varying the silica masses of 0 grams, 1 grams,
3 grams, and 5 grams. As well as variations in PEG levels by 0%,5%,l0%, and
20% (v/v PVA). Composite membrane with 5 grams of silica composition with a
mixture of PEG level 10% have the best membrane performance, which can be
proved by the ability to remodel the liquid waste industry tofu on turbidity meter
aspect of 79.83% and the regime on the total aspect 60.57 of the dissolved solids
%,with the flux value of Tofu liquid indusrial waste is 0.016 ml/cm2.min.
