Abstract

Accidents at railroad crossings often occur in Indonesia. The accident has caused many casualties, both minor injuries and death. The cause of accidents, in general, is the lack of crossing gates. To avoid that, one of the arrangements is to make automatic crossing gates that can distinguish the train display and close the bars consequently. The automatic railway crossing entrance is plan to utilize the ESP 8266 microcontroller equipment with sensors to recognize the train’s arrival. Working system this device, is when loop detector. Detects the arrival of the train, the servo will close the crossing gate, in the process of closing the gate if vehicle detected by the infrared sensor, the gate will temporarily close, if vehicle passed railroad successfully. The entrance immediately close full by assuming the vehicle effectively passed the railroad and then the gate immediately closed close. The test results between the estimated plan and the truth are not different. However, the sensitivity of the loop detector must be set first because the coils in the cross-section used are not perfect.
