Abstract
Rice is one of the most important agricultural commodities in Indonesia
because it is the main staple food consumed by the community. The distribution of rice
production centers is still dominant in several provinces in Java, such as East Java,
Central Java and West Java. Banyumas Regency is one of the regencies in Central
Java which is directly adjacent to Tegal Regency, Cilacap Regency, Brebes Regency
and Purbalingga Regency. Banyumas Regency has 301 villages and 30 sub-districts.
Gandatapa Village is one of the villages in the Subdistrict of Sumbang which is
located at the foot of Mount Slamet. In this village there is a rice field area of 93.54
ha which relies on irrigation with Ceheng water sources. Rice fields are the habitat of
various kinds of organisms. The presence of insects can be used as an indicator of the
balance of the ecosystem. Research on the diversity of insects, especially aerial insects
in the rice fields of Gandatapa Village, has never been carried out. This study aims to
determine the level of diversity of aerial insects found in this area. Sampling using a
yellow pan trap, carried out in November 2020 - February 2021. Samples were taken
at intervals of 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120 days after planting rice. The samples
obtained were identified at the Zoology Laboratory of the Biology Education Study
Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah
Purwokerto. To determine the level of diversity is calculated using the Shanon
Wienner method. From the results of the research that has been carried out there are
6 orders, namely (Homoptera, Cleoptera, Hemiptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera and
Lepidoptera), with 15 families namely (Cicadelidae, Coccinallinae, Delphacidae,
Scarabidae, Syrpidae, Ichneumonidae, Calliphoridae, Stratiomydae, Hesperiidae,
Polichopodidae, Droshopilideae, Tabanidae, Apidae, Satyridae and Muscidae).
Meanwhile, 18 genera were found, namely the genus Shipanta, Coccinella,
Niraparvata, Maladera, Platyceirus, Toxmerus, Calliphoridales, Hermetia,
Chrysosoma, Drosophila, Stomoxys, Musca, Atherigona, Tabanus, Xanthoryptus,
Ceryonis, Hylephila, and there were 201 individuals. With a diversity index (H') of
2.264 which is classified as moderate.
