Abstract

This study aims to determine the number of individuals, diversity, dominance and environmental quality in Pliken Village Agricultural Land. The research was carried out for six months, starting from January to June 2021. Purposive random sampling was utilized in this study. Soil mesofauna sampling was done in three locations: west (location 1), north (location 2), and south (location 3). The study was conducted six times, one month apart, in the morning (7.00 - 09.00 WIB) and at night (19.00 - 22.00 WIB). The discovered soil mesofauna was then identified using a microscope, and references are made to the books An Introduction to the Study of Insects and Ecology of Soil Animals. During the research, 500 mesofauna individuals were collected, representing 21 species, 18 families, and 14 orders. Members of the Isotomideae family had the most soil mesofauna individuals, with 133, and members of the Carabideae family had the fewest, with only one. The diversity index of soil mesofauna varies from 1.13 to 2.15, with an average of 1.65, indicating moderate variety, while the dominance index of soil mesofauna ranges from 0.13 to 0.38, with an average of 0.23, indicating the lack of a dominant species. The environmental quality is thus regarded as good, allowing soil fauna to survive.
