Abstract

To facilitate household chores, for example for water pumps, air conditioners, washing machines and industries, many use an electric motor as the main mover. However, many electric motors are found to be damaged left unattended due to fire due to lack of maintenance, so it is necessary to repair the rewinding of the electric motor. The purpose of this research is to convert a single-phase motor into a 3-phase motor to get a greater driving power. By means of a 3-phase rewinding scheme with the wave method. Based on the calculation results of a 1-phase motor into 3 phases with the wave method, a 3-phase rewinding scheme using a 24 groove stator and 0.7 mm enamel wire used and 50 coils per groove was obtained, then the length of the enamel wire used was 408.8 meters. Based on the results of testing in the laboratory, it produces a 3-phase induction motor with a power of 912,149 watts and a motor rotation speed of 1497 rpm
