Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of weeding and varieties on the growth of sweet com (Zea mays var. saccharata). This research was conducted from March to May 2020, at the Experimental Field of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto in Karangsari Village, Kembaran sub-district, Banyumas Regency. The design implemented was a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors, the first factor was sweet corn varietas consisted of 3 varietas and the second factor was the weeding factor consisting of 4 levels of treatment. The result discovered that the treatment of sweet corn varietas contributed a very significant effect on the variabel of plant height, leaf area, the weight unhusked cobs and provided a significant effect on the weight of corn cobs, and had no significant effect on the number of cobs.
