This research was aimed to find out the problems and the most problem faced by students in academic writing. It was a quantitative research used document to collect the data. The researcher used total sampling to get the samples from 6th semester students English Education Department Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The result showed that the problems face by students in academic writing were grammatical problem and problem of sentence structure, problem of word choice, punctuation problem, capitalization problem, spelling problem, problem content and problem organization. The most problem faced by student was grammatical problem and problem of sentence structure.
