Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students’ mathematical creative
thinking skills based on gender in the material of plane figures. This type of research
was a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were students as the
research subjects. The data collection techniques used in this study were tests of
creative thinking skills, interviews, and documentation. The data in this study were
analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, conclusions. The result of this
study showed that male students were able to master two indicators of creative
thinking abilities, namely detail and novelty, but they did not meet the indicators of
flexibility. On the other hand, female students were able to master three indicators,
namely flexibility, detail, and novelty.
