Abstract

The study aimed to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Banjarsari Wetan. It was a classroom action research that was conducted in 2 meetings by using the Missouri Mathematics Project model. The procedures were planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The data were collected by using test techniques (written tests and oral tests) and non-tests (observation, interviews, and documentation). The analysis of the data included the analysis of learning outcomes of student knowledge aspects, the analysis of learning outcomes of attitudes aspects, the analysis of aspects of student skills, the analysis of teacher observations, and the analysis of observations of student activities. Based on the research results, it showed that at the first meeting, the aspect of knowledge obtained an average of 71.8 with good criteria, and learning completeness was 75%. At the second meeting, the aspect of knowledge obtained an average of 80.5 with good criteria, and learning completeness was 80%. At the first meeting, the aspect of self-confidence obtained an average of 2.5 with sufficient criteria and increased by 3.25 with good criteria at the second meeting. The aspect of skills in solving mathematics problems at the first meeting obtained an average of 2.5 with sufficient criteria and increased by 3.08 with good criteria. Those three aspects had reached the indicators of success. Therefore, it can be concluded that Missouri Mathematics Project is able to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in class IV SDN 1 Banjarsari Wetan.
