Abstract

Brick is a building element in the manufacture of building construction made of clay
plus water with or without other mixed materials through several stages of work,
bricks cannot be destroyed again when immersed in water. This research is an
experimental study to determine the flexural compressive strength of the addition of
a mixture of bricks and bricks to the strength of the concrete. To determine the
flexural strength of concrete, a cylindrical test object with a diameter of 15cm x 30cm
was used with the use of variations of a mixture of bricks 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%
with a design flexural strength test of 20 MPa at the age of 14 days of concrete. The
results showed that the use of bricks for concrete mixtures affects the flexural
strength of the concrete. Concrete that uses less brick mixtures tends to have a
greater average flexural compressive strength, which is 21.09 MPa at a variation of
5% addition of bricks.
