Abstract

Batik is a craft in the form of cloth having a certain motif which is usually used as
a clothing material. The development of modern batik motifs has entered the
realm of collaboration with science and technology. This research performed
feature extraction to determine the characteristics of Purbalingga batik. The
method used the Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) with the parameters
of contrast, correlation, energy, homogeneity with angles 0derajat, 45derajat, 90derajat, 135derajat.
The feature extraction process started from image acquisition, conversion of RGB
images into grayscale images, the process of feature extraction using GLCM, and
the calculation of distances using Euclidean distance. Based on research
conducted, this GLCM feature extraction found the characteristics of Purbalingga
batik with a higher contrast value than non-Purbalingga batik, however, in terms
of correlation, energy, homogeneity values, the Purbalingga batik had lower
values. These results were obtained based on the test using 15 training data and
six testing data. Calculation of the Euclidean distance of the training data
obtained the minimum value of 0.0197, the maximum value of 0.4316. Moreover,
the distance of the Euclidean distance of the angle indicated the minimum value of
0.0361, the maximum value of 0.5760, the distance of the Euclidean distance of
the angle, the minimum value of 0.0205, the maximum value of 0.4284, and the
Euclidean distance angle with a minimum value of 0.0304, a maximum value of
0.4852. Based on the calculation of the Euclidean distance from the testing data,
the data obtained a success rate of 83% from 6 testing images, consisting of two
images from Purbalingga batik and 4 images from non-Purbalingga batik.
