The role of zakat institutions in an opportunity in the development of community empowerment. The goalis how community empowerment can be done by managing zakat so that this potential can be developed to empower the community of the Muhammadiyah branch of Duku Liru, this potentials certainly highly expected for peoplen small villages who have high enthusiasm for change Public As was done by the amil zakat infaq and shadaqah Muhammadiyah institutions in Purbalingga district. Howis the role of the institution able to provide empowerment effects to the communityin Duku Liru hamlet, Binangun village, Mrebet sub-district. With religious activities, education, agriculture, the role of MSMEs and so on, LAZISMU is able to catchit well and be well received by the community

This researchis a type of field research using Qualitative Descriptive Research Techniques with collection and documentation Data analysis uses primary data fromnterviews and applicable legislation where the data collected will be analyzed qualitatively by using descriptive methods, namely unreveling a picture of the data obtained and connecting with each other to get a general conclusion

The results of this studyindicate that the effective role of the amil zakat infaq and shadaqah Muhammadiyah institutionsin Purbalingga districtin the empowerment thatis running in Duku Liru hamletis able to run well, with progress, community acceptance of the role of tzismu, sustainability of religious activity programs, sustainability of the Koran house construction program and community empowermentin the agricultural sector So that this roleis really needed by the community andis able to make peopl endependent in developing their community groups
