Abstract

3 phase induction motor is a motor used to move industrial loads such as elevators and conveyors, to stop the motor then braking is needed. Braking the 3 phase induction motor is the most important thing because the induction motor cannot immediately stop even though the power supply has been decided, this happens because there is rotary energy stored on the shaft. Braking can be done by mechanical or electrical methods. Electric braking is classified into dynamic braking, regenerative braking and plugging braking. This braking test is designed to get a comparison of the stop time of the induction motor without braking, with dynamic braking method zero sequence braking and plugging braking. From the results of the test of the induction motor at a speed of 1500 rpm obtained the stopping time of the motor without braking is 3.15 seconds, with dynamic braking zero sequence braking method of 0.70 seconds using a 31.2 Volt injecting voltage and a plugging method of 0.59 seconds.
